‘Mishti Meye’ Kabori Laid to Rest

Before burial, the veteran actress was given the state guard of honour in front of the graveyard in Dhaka

Sarah Begum Kabori, the doyen of Bangladeshi cinema, has been laid to eternal rest at the Banani graveyard in the capital today following her namaz-e-janaza after Johr prayer.

Before burial, the veteran actress was given the state guard of honour in front of the graveyard in Dhaka, reports media.

The namaz-e-janaza and burial of the noted actress were held on a limited scale by following health guidelines amid coronavirus situation in the country.

Actress Kabori dies of Covid-19.  

The two-time National Film Award-winning personality, also a former member of parliament (MP), breathed her last at 12:20 am Saturday in Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital, Dhaka. She tested positive for Covid-19 recently.

Tributes and condolences poured in from people of all walks of life, including President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
