23 Cases against Hefazat Leaders Handed over to CID

A total of 23 cases against leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh were handed over to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for investigation.

Jisanul Hoque, additional superintendent of police at the CID Media Wing, disclosed the information to the Daily Sun on Monday evening.

He said, ''The CID has very lately received the duty of investigation into 23 cases filed against leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam regarding the recent mayhem in Brahmanbaria, Narayanganj, Dhaka and other places of the country.''

He said that Additional Inspector General Barrister Mahbubur Rahman, chief of the CID, would talk to journalists about the issue at the CID headquarters at 11:45 am today.
