Khaleda Zia to Stay in Hospital for 2-3 Days More

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital on Tuesday night.

The personal physician of the BNP chairperson said she will have to stay in hospital for two to three days more considering her physical condition.

Earlier, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Khaleda Zia's health is stable. She has been admitted to the hospital for different medical examinations. 

The BNP chairperson underwent various tests, including a CT scan, Ultrasonogram and Echo-ECG on Tuesday night. She is receiving treatment under the supervision of Professor of Cardiology  Dr Md Shahabuddin Talukder, said BNP vice-chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu.

Prof Dr FM Siddiqui, Prof AZM Zahid Hossain and Dr Mohammed Al Mamun were present during the tests in the hospital among the team members of the medical board for the treatment of Khaleda Zia. 

Senior physicians of the hospital were also present at that time. 

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and joint secretary general Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon were also present.

Khaleda Zia was accompanied by her housemaid Fatima and a nurse in a private car that took her to the hospital.

BNP chairperson's medical team member Prof AZM Zahid Hossain said although Madam (Khaleda Zia) is Covid-19 positive, she has no symptoms. Her condition is stable and she is doing well.

Khaleda Zia was diagnosed with Covid-19 on April 11, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

She was again tested positive for Covid-19 after 16 days of her infection.
