Hefazat Leader Harun Put on 9-Day Remand

A court in Chattogram on Monday placed Hefazat-e-Islam's central leader Mufti Harun Izhar on a nine-day remand in three cases filed with Hathazari Police Station over March 26 mayhem.

The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Helal Uddin granted his three-day remand in each of the three cases after police produced him before the court with a seven-day remand prayer for each case.

Mufti Harun was shown arrested in two more cases.

Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hathazari Police Station, confirmed the news.

Harun Izhar was arrested from Jamiyatul Ulum Al Islamia Madrasa, known as Lalkhan Bazar madrasa, in Chattogram city on April 29 night.
