No Application Submitted to Take Khaleda Zia Abroad

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that no application was submitted to the government to take Covid-19 infected BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad for better treatment.

He came up with the information responding to a question of a reporter at Eid gift distribution event, on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at Nazneen School in the city's East Razabazar on Tuesday afternoon.

The minister said "As per the request of Khaleda  Zia's family, the premier has suspended her sentence and given her the opportunity for treatment at home. We learn that she is now receiving treatment at a private hospital as per her will. As far as we know, specialist doctors are provider her treatment. Besides, we have not got any application or request  from her regarding treatment."

In reply to another question on medical treatment outside the country, the home minister said, It is a matter of the court. The Prime Minister has suspended her sentence and given her scope to get treatment. If she wants more, she has to come through the court."
