4 Postal Workers Arrested with Yaba Pills at Dhaka Airport

Four Post Office employees were arrested along with 2,355 pieces of Yaba pills at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday morning.

The identities of the arrestees could not be known yet.

"Aviation surveillance scanner Sultan Mahmud found Yaba-like items about 7:20 am at HSIA's hangar gate-8 when checking a cargo bag from the post office."

The executive director of the airport, Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul-Ahsan, confirmed the matter.

Squadron Leader Ashekin, Squadron Leader Faria, and ASP Anita went to the location after seeing the news and arrested them on suspicion of drug trafficking, he said.

In addition, they seized 2,355 Yaba pills.

The arrestees and the Yaba tablets were later handed over to a Department of Narcotics Control official, he said.
