Army Chief Leaves for Maldives

General Aziz Ahmed, the Chief of Army Staff, left Dhaka on Tuesday on an official visit to the Maldives at the invitation of Major General Abdulla Shamaal, the Chief of Defense Force of the Maldives.

A 9-member Bangladesh Army delegation led by Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed made the visit.

He will visit the Maldives National Defense Forces Headquarters (MNDF Headquarters), as well as other military installations and institutions, during his visit.

General Aziz Ahmed, the Chief of Army Staff, will also meet with Maldivian Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi, Chief of Defense Forces Major General Abdulla Shamaal, and other senior military authorities.

He will address further enhancing relations between the forces of the two countries as well as mutual cooperation at the meeting.

General Aziz Ahmed, the Chief of Army Staff, will pay a courtesy call on the High Commissioner and other senior officials at the Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives during his visit.

The Chief of Army Staff will return to the country on June 7 after his visit.
