China has expressed its displeasure over the disclosure of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine price, said Foreign Minister Dr Abdul Momen, adding that Bangladesh already sent a letter to China regretting the incident.

The health department has also written to China detailing the situation. However, so far there has been no answer from China.‎

China and Bangladesh signed an agreement whereby it was guaranteed that the procurement price would not be disclosed, the minister said.

China expressed their displeasure for breaching the disclosure agreement through a note verbal, he added.

On May 27, Bangladesh approved the proposal to buy 1.5 crore doses of the Chinese vaccine. At the end of the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Department Dr Shahida Akhtar told the media that the price per dose will be $10.
