Minor Girl Dies after Wall Collapses in City’s Mirpur

A twelve-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries at a hospital early Wednesday after a boundary wall collapsed on her in Mirpur area of the capital on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Nazma Akter, daughter of a rickshaw puller, hailing from Netrakona district, reports media.

Nazma used to live with her family in Kazipara area.

Mobarak Hossain, uncle of the deceased, said part of an old boundary wall of a four-storey building collapsed on her as she was passing by the area.

The girl was first taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital with her critical injuries. Later, she was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as her condition deteriorated, where she breathed her last around 3:00 am, he said.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said the body was sent to the DMCH hospital morgue for an autopsy.
