 In an attempt to break the chain of coronavirus mass transmission, authorities in Satkhira have extended the district's lockdown for another week.

The decision was announced by the local administration on Thursday.

During the lockdown, all types of public transportation will be prohibited from operating on the roads. Vehicles performing emergency services, on the other hand, will be exempt from the movement restrictions.

However, kitchen markets will be allowed to operate from 9am till 12pm daily, other shops and markets will remain closed.
