EC Pauses Polls to 119 Union Parishads in Khulna Division

Because of a sharp increase in coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Khulna division, the Election Commission (EC) has postponed polls in 119 union parishads.

The commission made the announcement on Thursday at noon.

Earlier, the Khulna divisional commissioner requested that the Election Commission postpone the elections to 123 union parishads in the Satkhira, Khulna, and Bagerhat districts due to an increase in coronavirus cases.
