Today marks the first anniversary of the death of Mohammed Nasim, a longtime Awami League leader and former health and family welfare minister.

Various social, cultural, and political organizations have implemented programs to keep track of the day while adhering to health recommendations.

The program includes a wreath-laying observance at Nasim's grave, a Milad and doa mahfil, a debate, and the distribution of food and wheelchairs to the underprivileged. Today, political and social organizations, as well as his family members, will lay wreaths at his grave in Dhaka's Banani cemetery.

Mohammad Nasim, a veteran freedom fighter, died on June 13, 2020, at the age of 72, while getting treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Shyamoli, the capital.
