Lockdown Extended until 15 July

The government has extended the ongoing countrywide lockdown until 15 July as the Covid-19 infection rate remains alarming in the country.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard today afternoon, upon receiving approval from the prime minister's office.

Earlier on 6 June, the cabinet division issued a gazette notification extending the lockdown till 16 June midnight to prevent the transmission of the deadly virus.

As per the last notification, government offices and educational institutions will remain closed without emergency services. Apart from this, everything will remain open on a limited scale.

Restaurants can operate at half capacity from 6am to 10pm, however, all tourist spots, resorts, community and entertainment centres will remain closed during this time.

Social, political, and religious gatherings will be banned during this period.

Public transport will also operate at half their capacity while maintaining health rules.
