Police today filed a case with Ramna Police Station accusing unidentified persons in connection with the blast at capital's Moghbazar on Sunday evening that claimed at least seven lives.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sajjadur Rahman told BSS that the police filed the case under Section 304 (a) of the Penal Code for deaths caused by negligence with Ramna Police Station this morning.

A seven-member probe committee was formed at the police headquarters on Monday to find out the cause of the incident.

The committee has been asked to submit a report within the next seven working days.

In addition, the Department of Explosives and the Fire Service have formed separate investigation committees.

Seven people were killed and more than 50 were injured in an explosion at a building in Moghbazar area around 7.30 pm on Sunday.
