Police have recovered the mutilated body of a pirate named Ekramul Haque (30) from the embankment of Matarbari in Maheshkhali of Cox's Bazar. He has bruises on various parts of his body.

The body was recovered from the side of the North Rajghat embankment of Matarbari at midnight on Wednesday (June 30).

Ekramul is the son of late Abdur Sattar of North Nalbila area of ​​Kalarmarchhara union of Maheshkhali upazila. He surrendered his arms to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on November 23, 2019 and returned to normal life.

According to local sources, Ekramul was recently released from jail on bail and was leading a normal life. Locals informed the police when they saw his body lying next to the embankment at midnight on Wednesday. Later the police went and recovered the body.

Maheshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Hai said the victim had bruises on various parts of his body. Especially the head has been randomly cut. It is not yet possible to say the details. Details can be told after the autopsy.
