Following the government's law to operate in
Bangladesh, Microsoft Regional Sales PTE Ltd got Value Added Tax (VAT) registration
on Thursday.
From now on, the non-resident corporation must
file monthly VAT returns to the government.
The registration, known as a business identity
number (BIN), was given in favor of the company's Singapore office, 182, Cecil
Street, 13-01 Frasers Tower, Singapore-069547, by the Dhaka South VAT zone.
Podder & Associates will serve as Microsoft's
local VAT agent. Earlier,
Facebook, Amazon and Google obtained VAT
registration from the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
