Bangladesh Railway has launched
'Cattle Special Train' service on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha amidst
coronavirus epidemic considering the convenience of transporting sacrificial
animals. Under this service, arrangements have been made for the transportation
of animals by train from different parts of the country.
Following this, 97 cows reached
Kamalapur railway station in nine wagons from Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi by
Cattle special train at 8 am on Sunday (July 18). In this way, the railway has
earned Tk 68,380 as fare.
Concerned Authority said that
another special train with 80 cows from Chapainawabganj is scheduled to arrive
in Dhaka on Sunday.
Besides, a total of 706 cows
and 20 goats, including 400 cows in 25 wagons from Jamalpur's Islampur Bazar
station and 306 cows in 21 wagons from Dewanganj Bazar, reached Dhaka's
Kamalapur railway station on a special train at 11:30 am today.
The railway authorities have
earned Tk 3 lakh 67 thousand for the fare of these two special trains.
Like last year, Bangladesh
Railway has arranged 'Cattle Special' train for the three days before Eid to
supply sacrificial animals in Dhaka. This special train is being operated on
17th, 18th and 19th July for the transportation of sacrificial animals.
Up to 400 animals can be
transported in one train. Like last year, this time the rent is Tk 500 per cow.
