PM Sends Mangoes to Maldives President as Gift

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent 500 kilograms of famous Bangladeshi ‘haribhanga’ mango as a gift to Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, president of the Republic of Maldives.

High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the Maldives Nazmul Hassan handed over the mangoes to Aishath Shaan Shakir, chief of protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, on Monday.

Aishath accepted the mangoes on behalf of the president of Maldives and cordially expressed gratitude to the prime minister of Bangladesh for sending these gifts as a symbol of friendship.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent mangoes as gift to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Besides, the Bangladesh Prime Minister also sent mangoes to West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and chief ministers of Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
