After Soumya Sarkar's half-century, Shamim Hossain's
quick-fire innings propelled Bangladesh to a five-wicket victory over Zimbabwe
in the third and final Twenty20 match at the Harare Sports Club Ground on
Sunday (July 25).
After Soumya hit 68 runs off 49 balls to lift the Tigers
to 194-5 in 19.2 overs, Shamim (not out) hit 31 runs off 15 balls to clinch
Bangladesh's greatest run-chase against the hosts in T20s.
Zimbabwe had set a difficult mark for the Tigers
earlier, thanks to superb efforts from Wesley Madhevere and Regis Chakabva. In
20 overs, the hosts scored 193 runs while losing 5 wickets.
Wesley Madhevere scored 54 runs on 36 balls, including
six fours. Regis Chakabva blasted a 48-run innings off 22 balls, including six
boundaries.
