Bangladesh Regulator Raises LPG Prices for August

At the consumer level, the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder increased by Tk 102. Which will be effective from August 1. In the private sector, the price of a 12 kg cylinder has been increased from Tk 891 to Tk 993, including VAT; This is the highest retail price.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has adjusted the price in the country due to the increase in prices in the world market.

The price of state-owned LPG has not changed as the cost has not changed at the production stage. The official price of 12 kg LPG has remained at Tk 591. The new price of LPG used in cars is Tk 48.71 per liter. Earlier it was Tk 44.

BERC, the regulator of the energy sector, announced the new prices at an online press conference on Thursday (July 29).

Earlier, on April 12, the company had fixed the price of LPG for the first time in the country. Since then, prices have been adjusted once a month.
