The third shipment of 200 tonnes of liquid oxygen trains from India has reached Bangladesh to tackle the oxygen crisis in the country amid a worsening pandemic situation.
The ‘Indo Bangla Oxygen Express’ train with 10 oxygen containers arrived at a railway station in Sirajganj at around 1:20 am on Friday, reports media.
With this, the importer Linde Bangladesh has so far imported 600 tonnes of liquid oxygen from India in three phases
The unloading process of the oxygen started at 7:00 am on Friday.
The oxygen will be taken to Linde Bangladesh’s Rupganj factory in Narayanganj, said the company’s authorities.
Later after processing, it will be supplied to various hospitals in the country, they said.
Earlier, the Oxygen Express in two trips brought 200 tonnes of oxygen each on July 25 and July 28.
