Actress Eka Arrested for Torturing Domestic Worker

Eka, a Bangladeshi film actress was arrested in the capital's Rampura neighborhood on Saturday evening for torturing domestic help.

According to Hatirjheel police station sub-inspector Harun-or-Rashid, Eka was detained from her apartment in the Nijhum residential district of Rampura.

Hazera Begum, a domestic helper of actress Eka, was also rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Hazera had been working in the actress' residence for a few months, according to the police officer, and had been subjected to abuse and torture.

After being informed by the actress's neighbors, police rescued her.
