Another 54 Lakh Covid Jabs to Arrive by August 15: Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said another 54 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses were scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh by August 15, reports media.  

He made the disclosure at a briefing after a Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat on Monday.

"Another 34 lakh Covid-19 vaccine shots will arrive in the country within August 15 under the COVAX project. Of these, 10 lakh doses were bought from China and with those, they will send us 10 lakh more vaccine doses as gifts," the minister said.

"In all, we will get 54 lakh vaccines within August 15. This will allow us to continue our mass vaccination campaign at the current pace," he added.
