Another 10 Lakh Pfizer Shots to Arrive on Aug 30

Another consignment of 10 lakh doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine will reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka under the COVAX facility on August 30.

The vaccine doses, a gift from the US to Bangladesh, will arrive via Qatar Airways on August 10 evening, reports media. 

A press release issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

Earlier, on August 23, Health Minister Zahid Maleque confirmed that another 60 lakh doses of Pfizer vaccine would be available from the United States in September.

The announced consignment of 10 lakh jabs is part of those 60 lakh doses, reads the release, adding that the remaining 50 lakh will arrive within September.

Earlier, on August 13, a shipment of 10 lakh Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine doses under the COVAX programme reached Dhaka.
