Elephant Brutally Killed in Cox's Bazar Forest

At Ramu in Cox's Bazar, miscreants mutilated a mother elephant's head and leg from its body after killing it.

The killing took place in the south Khuniapalong area under Ramu upazila early today.

Mizanul Islam, the in-charge of the Himchhari police outpost, confirmed the incident on Tuesday (August 31).

"A local named Nazir Ahmed was arrested on the spot," he said. In addition, in consultation with the forest department, legal action will be taken in this regard.”
