The Health Directorate has directed that the elderly and students above the age of 18 should be given priority in receiving SMS for the coronavirus vaccine. Besides, pregnant women have been instructed to vaccinate without SMS.

This was stated in a directive signed by Dr Md Shamsul Haque, director and line director of the Health Directorate and a member of the Covid-19 vaccine management task force committee, on Tuesday (August 31).

According to the directive of the Covid-19 Vaccine Preparedness and Deployment Core Committee, registered senior citizens and students above 18 years of age should be given the Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible by sending an SMS on priority basis.

In addition, registered pregnant women and lactating mothers will have to provide the vaccine from the designated center as soon as possible without SMS.

Pregnant women must show an ANC card / prescription from a specialist before signing up for the vaccine and sign the consent form prescribed for them.
