Sirajganj-6 (Shahjadpur) constituency MP, former Deputy Minister of Industries and Shahjadpur Upazila Awami League president gallant freedom fighter Mohammad Hasibur Rahman Swapan (63), infected with coronavirus, died.

He died in a Turkish hospital early Thursday morning (September 2) (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).

Shahjadpur Upazila Juba League convener and MP Swapan's personal assistant Ashiqul Haque Dinar confirmed his death.

He said his body would be brought to Bangladesh tomorrow, Friday (September 3). After that, his burial will be done after Janaza in Shahjadpur, his constituency area.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Member of the Parliament from Sirajganj-6 constituency and Shahjadpur Upazila Awami League president Md Hasibur Rahman Swapan.

In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
