Inspector Sohel Will Be Brought back from India: DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam on Sunday said Inspector Sohel Rana, who was arrested in India on charges of intrusion, will be brought back home, reports media.

“As a case was started against him (Sohel) in India, it is not certain whether we will be able to bring him back or not. But there is a way,” the DMP chief said.

“It is possible through sending a letter to the Indian Border Security Force from our Home Ministry. If the process fails, we will try through the Foreign Ministry.”

The BSF personnel arrested Banani police station Inspector Sohel Rana near the Changrabandha border in Cooch Behar of the Indian state of West Bengal on Friday while trying to cross the international border illegally, according to Indian media.
