54 Lakh Sinopharm Shots Reach Dhaka

Fifty-four lakh more doses of the Sinopharm vaccine reached Dhaka from China in the early hours of Saturday, reports media.

A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the consignment of Covid jabs landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12:45 am, confirmed Biman spokesperson Tahera Khondoker.

Earlier, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Hualong Yan, in a Facebook status on Friday evening, said the consignment would arrive in Dhaka early Saturday.

The vaccine doses are part of the commercial purchase from China, he said.

"As Strategic Partner of Bangladesh, China will always remain the most reliable supplier whatever and whenever our Bangladeshi friend needs," he added.
