319 More Hospitalized with Dengue in Bangladesh || Photo: Collected
In the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 am on Sunday, at least
319 persons were admitted to hospitals with dengue fever.
According to a news release from the Directorate General of
Health Services' Health Emergency Centre and Control Room, the number of
persons hospitalized with the Aedes mosquito-borne viral disease has risen to
13,875 since January this year, with 54 people dying.
According to the DGHS, 244 individuals were hospitalized in
Dhaka and 75 in other districts in the 24 hours leading up to Sunday morning.
Dengue killed 50 people in the capital, two in the
Chattogram division, and one each in the Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.
According to the DGHS, twelve of them died in July, 34 in
August, and eight in September.
Since January, 12,410 people have been admitted to hospitals
in Dhaka, accounting for 89.41% of all admitted patients.
On Sunday, 1,260 dengue patients were being treated in
various health facilities across the country, including 1,079 in 41 government
and private hospitals in Dhaka.
Since January, 12,561 people have recovered from dengue
fever, according to the announcement.
