Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Shamima Nasrin,
chairman of e-commerce site Evaly, and Mohammad Russel, its managing director.
Earlier, a senior RAB official said that the RAB started the
operation at its home in Mohammadpur around 3:30 pm on Thursday.
Members of the RAB-2 unit surrounded the house on Sir Syed
Road in Mohammadpur.
Earlier on Wednesday night, a customer named Arif Baker, a
resident of Purbagram area of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj, had filed a
fraud case against Evaly chairman Shamima Nasrin and managing director Mohammad
Russel at Gulshan police station.
Evaly MD Mohammad Russel has been made the number one
accused and Chairman Shamima the number two accused in the case. Several other
officials of Evaly have been accused in the case by showing 'anonymity'.
