COVID-19 has claimed the
lives of 17 more people in Bangladesh in the last day, bringing the total death
toll to 27,487.
According to the most recent
official data, the COVID-19 caseload increased to 1,555,051 persons after 1,178
people tested positive for the disease in the 24 hours leading up to 8 am on
Wednesday.
Among the eight divisions,
Dhaka had the most daily mortality and new cases, with 12 deaths and 865
infections.
Another 1,086 persons
recovered from the sickness across the country, increasing the total number of
those who have recovered to 1,514,962.
A total of 28,599 samples
were examined across the country, yielding a 4.12 percent positive rate.
According to the most recent statistics, the recovery rate is 97.42 percent,
while the death rate is 1.77 percent.
