Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said that to form an acceptable Election Commission (EC) through a consensus of all political parties.

He made the remarks after a commission meeting at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Wednesday (September 29).

“The formation of the new commission should be based on the consensus of all political parties,” KM Nurul Huda said. It should be, of course. It has my support. There should be a commission that is acceptable to everyone.”

When asked how the consensus would be reached, CEC said the President could do so. For example, the President recently met with the leaders of all political parties. However, that is a matter for the President to decide. We don't know what to do at this point; we have nothing to do. The European Commission has no role in reaching a consensus.
