A Dhaka court today placed Saiful Islam, director of e-commerce business ringID, on a two-day remand in a lawsuit filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
On Saturday, Dhaka
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury issued the decision
(October 2).
Sub-inspector Shohel Rana of
the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had previously presented the
accused to the court, requesting a five-day remand.
On September 30, a case was
filed under the Digital Security Act against 15 people, including Saiful Islam
and Bhatara Thana.
The organizations embezzled
Tk 23.94 crore in May, Tk 109.13 crore in June, and Tk 79.38 crore in July,
according to the case statement.
