Prominent actor Mahmud Sajjad in ICU

Renowned actor Mahmud Sajjad is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital in the capital, reports media.

The veteran actor is now undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital.

Sajjad’s brother M Hamid, said, “The 73-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital after tested positive for Covid-19 on September 1. He was shifted to the ICU as his condition deteriorated. Eventually, my brother tested negative for the virus. However, he was admitted to the ICU again due to post Covid-19 complications".

Mahmud Sajjad made his acting debut with renowned director Zahir Raihan's film, "Sangsar". His acted first TV serial was one popular Sokal Sondhya. His other notable films include Khan Ataur Rahman's "Jhorer Pakhi",  "Apon Por", and Aziz Azhar's "Chokher Joley", among many others.

M Hamid requested the countrymen and cultural areas to pray for his brother’s quick recovery from the disease.
