West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be sworn in next Thursday. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has also been invited to the swearing-in ceremony.

The Hindustan Times quoted West Bengal Parliamentary Minister Partha Chatterjee as saying on Monday (October 4).

Mamata Banerjee had no choice but to win the by-election in Bhabanipur constituency to retain the chief ministership in West Bengal, India. There she won a record-breaking victory that may seem like a mere formality.

Earlier, she lost to BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal by a margin of 58,835 votes. Earlier, her biggest victory was in the 2011 by-election, with a margin of 54,213.

Mamta’s party did worse than expected from opinion polls, which saw them at gaining about 213 seats. That defeat was a nightmare not only for Mamata but also for the team. But Bhabanipur's 'Mini India' forgot that pain of defeat.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee won the Bhabanipur assembly by-election. The tug-of-war over her swearing-in ceremony has started in the Raj Bhavan-Vidhan Sabha.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar wants the Chief Minister to administer the oath himself. But in this case, Speaker Biman Banerjee and Parliamentary Minister Partha Chatterjee have objections. Both of them have informed the close quarters that they will not attend the swearing in ceremony at the Raj Bhavan.
