Vietnam has expressed interest in establishing direct flights on the Hanoi-Dhaka-Hanoi route between Bangladesh and Vietnam to facilitate the travel of tourists and people of the two countries, reports media.

Vietnam Ambassador to Bangladesh Pham Viet Chien expressed his country’s interest during a meeting with State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali on Tuesday.

Recalling Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s support to the people of Vietnam during the country’s struggle for independence, the ambassador said both nations have come a long way for liberation.

“If direct flights are established by air, the relationship between the people of these two friendly countries will be further enhanced,” he said.
