COVID Cases Show Signs of Slowing, Even as Deaths Surge

Bangladesh has confirmed 14 coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 27,713 across the country.

During the same time span, 543 additional instances were reported. The overall number of infections in the country now stands at 15,63,501.

On Tuesday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a press release announcing the development (October 12).

In addition, 701 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, increasing the overall number of recoveries to 15,21,168, according to the announcement.
