The Hindu community in Bangladesh is celebrating Moha Nobomi today, the fourth day of the five-day
Durga Puja, in various puja mandaps in Dhaka and around the country.
Priests are performing rites
on this day, culminating in a devotional offering known as 'Moha-aroti.' The
lighting of 108 earthen lamps and the offering of 108 lotus flowers mark the
start of the Nobomi Tithi.
At the puja mandaps, Nobomi
Bhog is served to the goddess Durga and divided among the devotees.
On Wednesday, the Moha
Ashtomi puja was held, in which devotees paid their respects to goddess Durga.
In a tranquil and festive
environment, the auspicious ‘Sandhi Puja' was done during the confluence of
Moha Ashtomi and Moha Nobomi.
