Bangladesh has been ranked 76th out of 116 qualifying countries in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2021 with a score of 19.1.

The country has moved 1 notch down from last year's 75th position.

Bangladesh, however, did better than South Asian countries Pakistan (92th) and India (94th), according to the report jointly published by Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe on October 14.

With the score 19.1, Bangladesh, however, has a level of hunger that is "serious", the report mentioned.

This year, Bangladesh and Nepal (76th) positioned same in the index.

Out of 100 points, 0 is the best score (no hunger) and 100 is the worst. In practice, neither of these extremes is reached.
