Two
Bangladeshi youths were shot dead by Indian Border Security Force-BSF at the
Kanaighat border in Sylhet.
The
incident took place on Wednesday (November 3) afternoon at the Dona border in
Kanaighat.
The
deceased were identified as Askar Ali, 25, son of Abdul Latif and Arif Hossain,
22, son of Abdul Hannan of the same village.
Relatives
of the victims said they left home on Tuesday (November 2) afternoon and went
to the local Lalbazar. After that they did not return home.
Nazrul
Islam, company commander of the Surighat Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB camp, said
senior BGB officials had been informed of the deaths of the two youths.
Kanaighat
Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tajul Islam said a police team had rushed to the
spot. It is learned that they were shot dead by BSF while entering India through
a border smuggling route.
