Famous Bollywood director Shyam Benegal is making the biopic
'Bangabandhu' of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The
film is being co-produced by the governments of Bangladesh and India.
Arifin Shuvo is in the role of Bangabandhu, Nusrat Faria is in
the role of Sheikh Hasina and Nusrat Imroz Tisha is in the role of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib.
This time, actress Elena Shammi has joined this movie. She
will be seen in the role of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
On Monday afternoon, November 15, she signed a contract for
the character.
Elena Shammi said, "I was contracted this afternoon to
act in the biopic 'Bangabandhu' directed by Bollywood's famous producer Shyam
Benegal. I will play the role of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia."
She added: "It's definitely going to be a historic
film. I will try to give some good gifts."
The first phase of the movie started shooting at Dada Saheb
Phalke Studios in Mumbai at the end of January this year and will continue till
April. Though the movie was supposed to be released in March, the shooting
could not be completed due to Coronavirus.
It is learned that the movie may be released on the occasion
of Bangabandhu's birthday in March 2022.
