Covid-19: 3 More Deaths, 243 New Cases

Bangladesh registered three Covid-19 related deaths and 243 new infections in the past 24 hours until Friday morning, reports media. 

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 27,989 while the positivity rate was recorded at 1.40 percent on Friday.  

The overall caseload now stands at 15,77,070, according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).  

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 17,387 samples at 848 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,09,46,046 samples.

Meanwhile, 225 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,41,886.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile, the global Covid-19 caseload reached 264,360,298 and the death toll to 5,237,756 till Friday morning, according to a US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU) update.
