The Keari Cruise ship has
been stranded in the middle of the bay on its way from St. Martin to Teknaf.
On Saturday (December
4), the ship was reported to have stopped after returning one kilometer from
St. Martin in the afternoon, although some passengers had been evacuated from
the port of Teknaf. However, the ship authorities have not yet been able to
find out whether there was a mechanical glitch or any other problem in the
ship. There are hundreds of tourists on board.
The locals believe that
this is happening due to the mismanagement of the ship.
When asked the Tour Operators
Association of Cox's Bazar President Anwar Kamal, he said he did not know
anything about it.
SM Abu Noman, who is in
charge of the ship's Cox's Bazar, said that it was difficult for the ship to
come or get stuck due to the char appearing in the middle of the sea. Moreover,
the ship did not have any major problems. This happens several times a month.
A tourist who came to
Cox's Bazar on condition of anonymity said that some ships are quite annoying. Nothing
can be more dangerous than stopping a ship in the middle of the sea. I hope the
authorities will resolve the issue.
