The time is not going well for the Bangladesh team after T20 World Cup. After losing in the World Cup, they lost in two consecutive series against Pakistan. Due to the bad condition of the party, many of the officials in the BCB are seeking a resignation. Meanwhile, news came that Akram Khan had stepped down as chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee.

On Monday (December 20) afternoon, Akram's wife Sabina Akram broke the news through a Facebook post. "Akram Khan is quitting cricket operations," Sabina wrote in her post.

Sabina Akram's post spread like wildfire on social media. Akram Khan immediately turned off his phone. No response was received for that reason. Meanwhile, a reliable BCB source said that Akram was in fact being removed from the post of chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee.

Akram Khan, who won the ICC Trophy in 1997, was elected director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the first time in 2014. Since then he has been the Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee. The name of the new chairman of cricket operations may be announced at the first board meeting of the BCB next week.

Although Akram Khan's phone was switched off, Sabina Akram told the media, "It is our family decision. Akram had a big time in his life with cricket. We want him to give more time to his wife, daughter and family besides cricket. He will soon announce the decision to the media."
