More trouble is brewing for former state minister Murad Hassan.

Chandpur Nationalist Lawyers Forum President Sharif Mahmud Ferdous Shahin has filed a case in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Mohammad Hasan against the former Minister on Monday afternoon, reports UNB.

The case was filed against Murad for allegedly making derogatory remarks during an interview on social media.

YouTuber Mohammad Mohiuddin Helal Nahid, who published the interview on his Facebook page, has also been sued in the case.

On December 7, Murad quit the cabinet following the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

On December 8, a writ was filed with the High Court challenging the legality of Murad Hassan’s MP post on the same ground.

On December 12, Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum Secretary Advocate Omar Faruk filed a case against Murad under DSA for his derogatory remarks with Dhaka Cyber Tribunal.

Murad was also stripped of his post of Health and Population Affairs Secretary of Jamalpur district unit Awami League for damaging the party’s image and breaching discipline.
