The Supreme Court on Monday has ordered that two Japanese children Jasmine Malika and Laila Lina will stay with their mother Nakano Eriko, reports media.

They will stay at Hotel Escort Palace in Baridhara till January 23.

Their father, Imran Sharif can visit his daughters between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm every day during this period, the SC said.

A three-member bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed the order.

Advocate Ahsanul Karim was present at the hearing accompanied by Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir on behalf of the father. Meanwhile, Advocate Fawzia Karim Firoz was present at the hearing on behalf of the mother.

Nakano and Imran got married in 2008 and had three children. In January, 2021, they filed for divorce due to marital dispute.

Soon after the divorce was filed, Imran flew to Bangladesh with his two elder daughters. Nakano came to Bangladesh from Japan in July to try and regain custody of her children.

Earlier on November 21, a virtual bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order to keep two Japanese children with their father, besides their mother will be allowed to stay with the kids for ten days after visiting Bangladesh three times every year.

Nakano then challenged the decision at the Supreme Court.
