Wife Calls to 999, Police at Murad's Flat

Former state minister Dr Murad Hasan's wife Dr Jahanara Ehsan called the National Emergency Service on 999 and sought police assistance.

She called at noon on Thursday (January 6th) to say she was being beaten and threatened with death.

The matter was reported to Dhanmondi police station from 999. Upon receiving the news, a police team went to Murad's house.

Dhanmondi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ikram Ali Mia confirmed the matter to media.

He said police had been sent to the house of former state minister Murad Hasan at 15 no. road's flat after receiving a call from 999. She accused her husband of torturing her and threatening to kill her. If a written complaint is received in this regard, further legal action will be taken.
