Pitha Utsav Celebrated in Shampratik Deshkal

Pitha is an integral part of the culture and tradition of Bangladesh. However, due to the impact of urbanization, it is on the way to extinction. But once upon a time, any Bengali festival would have a variety of Pithas mixed with love and joy.

The Pitha Utsav has been celebrated in Shampratik Deshkal today, embracing this tradition of the Bengalis.

The day-long festival featured a variety of Pithas. Among them were Bhaja Puli, Dudh Puli, Narikel Pakan, Chei Pitha, Patti Sapta, Fuljhuri, Nakshi Pitha, Bhapa Pitha, Chitoi Pitha, Jhal Puli, Dudh Pitha, among the sweets were Kunafa, Custard, Pudding, Balu Shai and Payes. There was also Rice Flour Bread, Duck Curry, Fuchka-Chotpoti, and a variety of seasonal fruits.
