Five Former-SUST Students Get Bail

A court has granted bail to five former students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology who were arrested on charges of financing the anti-vice-chancellor SUST protest.

On Wednesday (January 26) afternoon, the Jalalabad police sent four people to court. Another was infected with coronavirus and is being treated at the city's Shahid Dr Shamsuddin Ahmed Sadar Hospital court. They were arrested from Dhaka on Monday.

Police sent arrested students Shahbalal University students Habibur Rahman, Reza Noor Moin, AKM Maruf Hossain and Faisal Ahmed to court on Wednesday afternoon. Following the hearing at 8pm, Metropolitan Magistrate 2nd Court Judge Mohammad Sumon Bhuiyan granted their bail application. Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Additional Deputy Commissioner BM Ashraf Ullah confirmed the information to them.
